The Seven Currents · Observation & empirical inquiry

Scientia

To investigate the world through observation, evidence, testing, and a willingness to revise explanations.

Scientia asks what can be observed and how an explanation can be examined. It connects curiosity with method: recording what happened, recognizing uncertainty, and distinguishing a result from an interpretation.

Putting the Current into practice

01

Observe carefully

Record what you encounter, including details that do not fit your expectations.

02

Test an explanation

Ask what evidence would support or challenge it and choose a method suited to the question.

03

Share findings honestly

Explain the method, limitations, results, and what remains unknown.

The path of learning

The progression within Scientia is Tiro, Legio, then Dux. Each stage joins understanding with the ability to put it into practice.

01

Tiro · Beginner

Learn observation, evidence, basic methods, and the value of admitting uncertainty.

02

Legio · Practitioner

Conduct careful investigations, interpret results responsibly, and help Tiros learn sound methods.

03

Dux · Master teacher

Teach empirical inquiry, evaluate methods and evidence, and maintain standards of intellectual honesty.

How advancement works

Legios evaluate a learner’s work and make recommendations. The Duces hear the evidence and vote. The Legate presides over the process and does not vote.

A Current rank describes development within that Current. Membership status and an office of service in the Aedes describe other responsibilities and can overlap with a Current rank.

A place within the whole

Scientia is one of the Seven Currents. Its work contributes to the wider life of Logosianism while retaining its own field of study and practice.
