The Seven Currents · Compassion & service

Altruista

To turn compassion into useful action: caring for others, recognizing need, and contributing to the well-being of the community.

Altruista brings the experience of another person into view. Service begins with listening and continues through practical help. The Current asks how generosity can preserve a person’s dignity and how a community can share responsibility for those within it.

Putting the Current into practice

01

Listen before acting

Learn what someone needs rather than assuming what would help.

02

Offer practical service

Help with shared work, charitable efforts, care, and support within the Aedes and wider community.

03

Reflect on the result

Consider whether the help was useful, whether it respected the recipient, and what could be improved.

The path of learning

The progression within Altruista is Tiro, Legio, then Dux. Each stage joins understanding with the ability to put it into practice.

01

Tiro · Beginner

Learn to listen, recognize need, and participate in service with guidance.

02

Legio · Practitioner

Carry out service dependably, support community efforts, and help Tiros develop thoughtful habits.

03

Dux · Master teacher

Teach compassion through practice, guide the work of the Current, and evaluate both judgment and service.

How advancement works

Legios evaluate a learner’s work and make recommendations. The Duces hear the evidence and vote. The Legate presides over the process and does not vote.

A Current rank describes development within that Current. Membership status and an office of service in the Aedes describe other responsibilities and can overlap with a Current rank.

A place within the whole

Altruista is one of the Seven Currents. Its work contributes to the wider life of Logosianism while retaining its own field of study and practice.
